Monica’s fans won’t be getting any holiday music from her this year, but good things come to those who wait. The recent two-time Grammy nominee is looking to release an entire album of seasonal tunes in the future.

The R&B songstress was planning to record a Christmas song this year, but timing became an issue. “We were working on it and we found out that we did it too late for iTunes, and for that reason it didn’t work,” she tells Rap-Up.com.

But she has a bigger gift in store for her fans. “Maybe after the next album, I’ll do a full Christmas album,” she says. “I’m looking forward to something like that, something that’s kinda mixed with a little bit of Christian inspirational things with some of the older songs that we all know.”

In order to make a fall release, she would have to begin recording in the summer. “I’ll have to start about five months out. It’ll be ‘Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire’ in May or June,” she laughs.

Monica is currently in the studio with Polow Da Don working on the follow-up to this year’s Still Standing.
