Multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning R&B star Monica will perform the National Anthem in front of a global audience on Tuesday, June 8, prior to Game 3 of The Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers at TD Banknorth Garden in Boston.

The performance will be televised live on ABC in the U.S. and to a worldwide audience in 215 countries and territories beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET.  Monica’s fifth studio album Still Standing was certified Gold in just three weeks and debuted at No.1 on the R&B Album Charts and No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200.  This chart entry  maintains Monica’s long standing track record of  chart topping debuts and marks her second consecutive No. 1 R&B album debut.  Monica’s previous three albums -The Makings of Me, After The Storm and The Boy Is Mine – have debuted at No. 1 and No. 2 on either the Billboard Top 200 or Top R&B Album Charts.

The album’s first single, “Everything To Me,” reached the No.1 spot on the R&B charts and became Monica’s sixth No.1 single.  The success of “Everything To Me” places Monica within an elite group of entertainers that have garnered No.1 R&B singles spanning three decades -Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, James Brown and Marvin Gaye. The seasoned Atlanta songstress first captured the No.1 spot on the R&B charts in the 90’s with her hit singles “Don’t Take It Personal”(Just One of Dem Days), “Before You Walk Out of My Life ” and “The Boy Is Mine.”  In 2003 Monica claimed the No.1 spot with “So Gone” from her platinum selling album After The Storm.

Monica’s fifth studio album, Still Standing, is in stores now and  the second single from the album will be “Love All Over Me.”
